From the BBC:

The actress who played Bill Cosby’s wife in The Cosby Show has said allegations of historical sex offences against her former co-star are part of a campaign to keep him off TV.

Phylicia Rashad played Clair Huxtable on the hit 1980s and ’90s sitcom.

“Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV,” she told the Showbiz 411 website. “And it’s worked. All his contracts have been cancelled.”

Defending her former co-star, Rashad said of the alleged victims: “Forget these women… What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated.

“I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy. And it’s a legacy that is so important to the culture.”

It’s sad to see anyone become unhinged. What might Phylicia Rashad have to say about Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the bomber of the Boston Marathon?

“Someone is determined to keep Dzhokhar Tsarnaev from becoming a dentist,” she said. “And it’s worked. His education has been cancelled.”

Rashad continued: “Forget these runners… What you’re seeing is the destruction of someone’s career in dentistry. And I think it’s orchestrated.

“I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s about dentistry. And dentistry is so important to human health.”

Or Jerry Sandusky, the assistant football coach at Penn State?

“Someone is determined to keep Jerry Sandusky off the football field,” she said. “And it’s worked. His coaching career is over.”

Rashad continued: “Forget these children… What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated.

“I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy. And it’s a legacy that is so important to college football.”

Or Darren Wilson, the erstwhile Ferguson policeman?

“Someone is determined to keep Darren Wilson off the streets,” she said. “And it’s worked. His law enforcement career is over.”

Rashad continued: “Forget these black people… What you’re seeing is the destruction of someone’s career in law enforcement. And I think it’s orchestrated.

“I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s about law enforcement. And law enforcement is so important for our safety and wellbeing.”
